June 6th, 2014 will mark the 70th anniversary of the Normandy landings, better known to many as D-Day. It remains the largest seaborne invasion in history, mounting up huge numbers of casualties on both sides. In honor of those who participated in the event, and to honor all veterans during Memorial day, I felt it appropriate to note how wargames can serve as both a learning tool for history as well as a reminder of what has gone before.

Towards that end I’ve posted a pair of articles over on GamerDad.com on two of the more approachable World War 2 games available: the Memoir ’44 system and the Conflict of Heroes system.  I expect neither article reviews the systems in the depth desired by most readers of this site, but they might serve as a good reference to pass on to less experienced gaming acquaintances who may find some interest in the subject.
